Guide for replacing skin textures of petites

I made this guide for help people make their own skin texture for petites so that they can make an exclusive petite avatar for themselves.

You cannot resell your petites by following this guide, so please don’t ask me for full-perm mesh body.

All the petites are absolutely no refund. Please make your purchase or modification at your own risk.

Please make a backup before modifying your body.

-First step-

Obtaining MOD ver. of petite

Most of the petite on sale are no MOD, and so far only the body sold by Yabusaka Loon is MOD.

-Second step-

Making your own skin textures

You don’t have to have any experience of skin making or digital drawing in order to prepare the skin for peitites, since there are great free resources available on the web.

Eloh Eliot’s Another skin templates are wonderful template and are available from

her resource page.

In this guide, I focus more on petite specific rules.

a. Save the skin textures without alpha layer.

Alpha layer will cause strange look when you apply the textures to mesh body.

In order to get rid of alpha, please save the textures as TGA24bit or as JPG, not TGA32bit or PNG.

b. Female ver. of petite head comes with mesh eyelash. So in the head texture, hide eyelash layer if it is turned on.

c. Feet of regular SL avatar is very primitive and there were no way to fit feet shade to the petite feet. So just turn off the entire shade layer for the feet.

If you are happy with your texture, upload them to second life.

-Third step-

Applying textures to petite body

First, rez the petite body on the ground. Be aware of prim costs XD

The body consists of 3 heads, one eyelash, upper body, and lower body.

2 of the heads are hidden but you can switch them using mesh control HUD, or if you press Ctrl+Alt+T, you can see the invisible head.

Drug and drop head texture to all 3 heads.

Drug and drop upper body texture to upper body.

Upper body is separated to 4 faces, shoulder, upper arms, elbows, and other part. So please make sure to apply texture to all 4 parts.

Similarly, lower body is separated to 3 parts, crotch, knees, and other part.

Rez the hands and apply upper body texture to it.

Rez the feet and apply lower body texture to it.

Feet mesh is separated to toe and other part. Apply texture to both parts.

Nails and eyelashes are separate mesh. If you accidentally replaced texture for these parts, you can find the original texture here.

Take the rezzed body and done! Your original petite is ready!

Petite mesh avatar

Hello!

I've been too lazy to update my blog and its already been a while since I released this AV but I need to post it here anyways.

This is tiny size mesh avatar which is about 1/3 of regular SL AV.

The package comes with blue fairy dress by G=FIELD.

I also released mesh school uniform for petites.

Now more and more creators are participating to this project and variation of avatar/outfits are available.
